Working Towards a Better Tomorrow

Mission Statement

Custer County Art Center, now the WaterWorks Art Museum, is a non-profit, cultural leader in southeastern Montana that is dedicated to providing:

​

1) exhibits that are deemed to be of significance to the visual arts and humanities on a local, regional, national and international scale;

​

2) quality educational opportunities and informational services that enhance cultural awareness, reinforce exhibition philosophy and facilitate learning on various levels;

​

3) proper management of, and accessibility to, the visual arts collections which the WaterWorks Art Museum holds in public trust.

Youth outreach is funded in part by the Montana Arts Council, an agency of the State Government; and by the National Endowment for the Arts.
WAM is also funded in part by coal severance taxes paid based upon coal mined in Montana and deposited in Montana's cultural and aesthetic projects trust fund.
